SnowkiteSummit.com is a result of the discussions initiated during the Skyline Snowkite Summit hosted by Windzup in December of 2007. This gathering of snowkiting retailers, instructors, manufacturers, team riders, and enthusiasts from across the nation and around the world provided an unique opportunity to explore many of the issues, opportunities, and challenges facing the sport and industry of snowkiting.

The SSS provided an opportunity to discuss issues surrounding retail and how to avoid the significant issues that plague retailers in the kitesurfing world related to short product lifespans and pricing. We shared information about utilizing online tools for weather and forecasting and seeking out new locations. We had the opportunity to discuss product development and kite design as well as discuss accessories and peripheral products. And finally we got to talk kiting with fellow addicts.

My hope is that this online resource provides a communication tool to continue the dialog, to coordinate our efforts, and to cooperatively improve snowkiting.
